WFRF Tallahassee FL 1070
Scott Beigle, President of Faith Radio Network in Tallahassee, gave me QSL #60 from Florida by confirming my January 12, 2013 reception of WFRF. "We also received response from Stockholm Sweden at the same time", Scott claims. Torolf is alive and kicking!
KGMY Springfield MO 1400
The 12th was one of the most memorable days this January, and KGMY was a memorable station heard that day. Bob Moore - thank you so much for confirming this!

WSRO Ashland MA 650
January 11, 2013 was a great night for daytimers. Thank you OJS for finding this station, and thank you Alex Langer for confirming my reception.
WSIR Winter Haven FL 1490
My next station to be found on the fabulous morning of January 30, 2013 was "Family Radio 1490 AM WSIR Winter Haven-Bartow-Lake Wales", which faded up with a nice signal for the TOH ID and was all alone on 1490 AM for a moment.
Thank you Joe Fisher for confirming the reception.

WYND DeLand FL 1310
Thanks a lot to Fredrik Dourén for alerting about great conditons to Florida on the NORDX list on January 30! The first station I heard was WYND which had a nice signal on 1310 for more than 30 minutes, without a trace of CIWW or WLOB. I heard a nice “You
are listening to WYND, DeLand. We’re Florida’s Christian Voice … 1310 on your
AM dial”.
Thank you Jackie Harrell for confirming my reception!

WNFL Green Bay WI 1440
Sometimes you should turn around and look back. I did a few days ago, checking some old recordings from Kongsfjord in 2011. To my pleasure I found a new station on 1440: "... AM 1440 WNFL, Green Bay". This signal was actually captured by my DX rig in Kongsfjord when I was having a great time in Sydney, Australia, on December 23! Thank you to both Tim Laes and Bob Seering for confirming my reception.
WROW Albany NY 590
I'd never heard them before, but on January 13, 2013 Magic 590 AM was heard for more than an hour. The usual super dominant VOCM had a bad hair day, and in addition there was interference from CJCL and WEZE. Program Director Jay Scott kindly confirmed my reception. "Please tell your friends where they can hear all of their favorite
“Timeless Hits” at www.albanymagic.com."
WAPI Birmingham AL 1070
WAPI is another long time wanted station, finally heard on January 11, 2013. The signal during the station ID was very poor due to the terrible IBOC interference from WTIC on 1080, so I'm deeply impressed by Frank Giardina who could confirm my reception. Thank you, Frank!

WAEB Allentown PA 790
I don't spent a lot of time listening to 790 kHz, but on January 12, 2013 I did and was rewarded by hearing "NewsTalk 790 WAEB". For a few minutes there were no other stations heard on 790 except from a strong WAEB signal! This was nice, and so was the email from Pat Gremling, General Sales Manager, where he confirmed my reception. Thank you!

WTHE Mineola NY 1520
"AM 1520 WTHE. New York's First Gospel Station" was heard on January 8, 2013. Thank you Darren K. Greggs, Program Director, for confirming my reception, and thank you OJS for finding this station!
WPFC Baton Rouge LA 1550
Hearing WPFC was one of my golden moments in the morning of October 30, 2012.
Not necessarily because this is a very rare catch, but simply because I love hearing AM radio stations from Louisiana.
Jon Fine kindly confirmed my reception - thank you!

KKAQ Thief River Falls MN 1460
At last! I heard KKAQ 1460 AM on January 11, exactly 13 hours before I also nailed KKCQ 1480 AM. Davin Halvorson was kind enough to send me an email with the requested reception confirmation.
WNWR Philadelphia PA 1540
WNWR was heard with a tiny little signal in heavy interference from CHIN on January 9, 2013.
Thank you Brian C. Edwards for confirming my reception, and thank you OJS for finding this station!

WTIS Tampa FL 1110
WTIS was probably never heard in the Nordic countries prior to this, but on January 12 they were all alone with a nice signal on 1110 kHz during their signing off announcement!
Pete O'Shea kindly confirmed this great experience.

WCPC Houston MS 940
WCPC was one of those stations I hadn't figured out how I could possibly hear - until January 12, 2013 when I was invited to a party on 940 kHz! That evening I identified 5 stations within 90 minutes: WIPR-PR, WKGM-VA, WCPC-MS, WINZ-FL and WMAC-GA.
WCPC was heard with a good quality for about 10 minutes, giving a couple of announcements and a station ID - "WCPC AM 940, Houston-Tupelo".
Tyger Elton, Corporate Engineer, kindly confirmed my reception. Thank you!

WNWC Sun Prairie WI 1190
I heard Faith 1190 in the evening of January 4, 2013. Sara Smith confirmed my reception. She's got a fascinating title: Listener Engagement Director.
Thank you Sara!
Thank you Sara!
WDAE St. Petersburg FL 620
The 11 days from January 3rd till January 13th were fabulous for DX-ing North American AM radio stations here in mid Norway - maybe the longest period I've ever experienced! January 7th offered NA stations for 24 hours - quite an experience even if I still haven't found no new ones from that particular day.
But long time wanted WDAE was heard on the last day of this fantastic period, with a clear ID in the morning of January 13th - for once the Cuban wasn't there. Doug Hamand, Vice President of Programming, kindly confirmed my reception. Thanks!

WTJS Jackson TN 1390
What a surprise to hear this station! OJS found WTJS first on January 9, and I found an even better recording at the same TOH on January 12. You can't get too many QSLs from Tennessee, so I was very pleased when Dave Hacker sent me an email to confirm my reception. Thank you Dave and thank you OJS!
WJRW Grand Rapids MI 1340
I found WJRW on a recording fra last season's DXpedition to Kongsfjord - the KONG21. Date of reception was November 14, 2011, and this was confirmed by James Gemmell.
Thank you!
Thank you!

WFLI Lookout Mountain TN 1070
I'm overwhelmed by the kindness and helpfulness of Jeff Gregory (WA4HLV) at WFLI!
Jeff confirms my January 4, 2013 reception this way: "It was a very hard copy, but after listening to the audio clip about 20 times, there is, as you said, a "WFLI" about 20 seconds in. By the rhythm it was said, I believe it was our announcer Carl Human. You heard us at 2229Z, which was the very last minute we were on 50,000 watts that day. In the month of January, we drop to 2500 watts at sunset at 2230Z and shift our directional pattern to the southeast."
"WFLI has been on the air in Chattanooga since the year 1961. It was built by Mr. Billy Benns, who was an expert on directional AM. WFLI was the top station in the market in the 1960s with a rock and roll format. The Benns family still owns the station today; and the format is a mix of religion, politics, news, sports, talk, music, and infomercials."

KOY Phoenix AZ 1230
KOY - "the valley's home for smooth jazz" - was heard on December 7, 2012 - a day which still needs further investigation. Thank you Dave Sanford for confirming my reception tonight, and thank you OJS for identifying this station!
KOY was my QSL #1400 from North America (Alaska, Canada and USA; MW only).

ZYL268 Rádio Itatiaia, Belo Horizonte MG 610
Rádio Itatiaia was heard in Kongsfjord on September 18, 2011. I was close to giving up my reminders when I suddenly received a nice confirmation by email from Luciani Oliveira, Coordenadora de Comunicação.
WXEX Exeter NH 1540
Last night there were several alerts about increasing conditions for reception of North American stations, and at 2101 UTC I could hear an ID for long time wanted WXEX. At 0618 EST today I got a very nice email from Steve Thomas: "Good Morning Arnstein and yes sir……that’s
our Legal ID I picked up in your audio file. Well done sir!
To answer your question, our power at
4:01PM Eastern Standard Time would be 2,500 watts (Critical Hours power from
2:30 to 4:30PM in the month of January) and then we take a huge step down to
night power after that."
Thank you OJS both for alerting and for pointing out this station!

KOLY Mobridge SD 1300
"Yes, the recording was KOLY in Mobridge, SD, USA. On December 9, 2012 at 8:00 AM CST/7:00 AM MST, KOLY AM at 1300 Khz would have been operating on "Pre-Sunrise" power of 500 Watts as the "full-power" of 5,000 Watts is not for a full 15 minutes later at 8:15 AM CST/7:15 AM MST", John Schreier writes.
