I have heard Rádio Municipalista only once - on July 20, 2010 - and today this station gave me my MW QSL no. 50 from Brazil! Thanks to Vanderlei dos Santos.

The 50 next ones will not take me 30 years, like the 50 first ones did!

Mirante AM from Imperatriz, Maranhão, also identifying "ZYH920, 600 quilohertz, onda média, 10.000 watt de potência ... São Luís, Maranháo ...", was heard on July 13, 2009. Talvane Lukatto kindly confirmed this reception today.

I heard several new stations from Argentina and Brazil on July 25, 2011. One of them was Mirante AM, fading up with an ID a minute after Rádio Gaúcha. Thanks to Geraldo Castro for confirming my reception in an email today.

Radio Tropical was heard during the second best opening to South America last fall - September 4, 2010. Tonight Lao Herrera Iranzo sent me an email to confirm this reception.

OAX7X Radio Juliaca, Juliaca 1290

It was a tremendous pleasure hearing Radio Juliaca for the very first time on May 28, 2011. The frequency was 1289,908 and the signal was huge for a moment. Tonight I received a very nice email from Guadalupe Apaza Quispe, who kindly confirmed this excellent reception.

Radio Juliaca is the oldest radio station in town, and that's why they call themselves La Decana. The announcement I heard was like "... 1300 kilohertz en Amplitud Modulada y 90.9 en Frequencia Modulada - Radio Juliaca, La Decana". Both their web site www.radiojuliaca.com.pe and the email I received say the AM frequency is 1290 kHz, but still they announce 1300 kHz.

Juliaca is at 2823 meters above sea level, and has a population of approximately 300.000.

In the same moment that night CP107 Radio Yaguarí was heard with a great signal on 1440 kHz.
