HIAK Radio Impacto, Santo Domingo 1440

April 8, 2009, gave pretty good conditions to the Dominican Republic, and one of the new stations I heard was HIAK Radio Impacto from Santo Domingo. Quite a surprise on 1440, but has been heard quite often during the summer.
Thanks to Jim Solatie for v/s information and to Andres Serrano for confirming my reception.

HIAK is also heard identifying Radio Impactante.

KTKN Ketchikan AK 930

In the afternoon of the fabulous day of October 24, 2008 I had the pleasure of hearing KTKN for the very first time. They are certainly not the first choice on 930 with CJCA and KNSA present! Station Manager Mary Biggerstaff sent me a short'n nice email to confirm my reception of AM station #38 from Alaska.

CMLL Radio Victoria, Las Tunas 1350

I haven't had the opportunity to check many of my recordings from April yet, but on April 17 CMLL Radio Victoria was heard at the listening post at Smøla - my second Cuban on 1350 this season.
I received a long and friendly email with this QSL attached.

HCAE4 Radio Unión, Esmeraldas 1490

Radio Unión was heard with a huge signal signing on on January 23, 2009! This was a good day for hearing North Americans, but not much else was logged from Latin America so Radio Unión was a great surprise.
Thanks to Walter Delgado Clavijo, Henrik Klemetz and OJ Sagdahl for this fantastic QSL!

YVNA Ondas de los Médanos, Coro 660

Heard at Smøla on September 23, 2007, Ondas de los Médanos wasn't confirmed until tonight. Thanks a lot to Jackson Osvaldo Rodriguez, locutor!

XELE La Preferida, Tampico 920

Another pleasant surprise from October 19, 2008, was XELE Mi Radio 920, La Preferida. XELE belong to Grupo Mi Radio in Tamaulipas, like XEZD 1350 which I received a QSL from a few days ago. They responded in a perfect way also this time.
Muchas gracias, señores!

WTCH Shawano WI 960

960 AM Moose Country WTCH was my second new station on 960 within 36 minutes on October 19, 2008. A nice email from Donald Grassman, who also confirmed my reception of 1380 WFCL (now WOTE) more than two years ago, confirmed my reception. Thank you very much, Don!

KFLN Baker MT 960

It was a real surprise hearing KFLN with a huge signal in the night of October 19, 2008. Their power at that time was only 93 watts! The main competitor was KMA, but within a two hour period I also heard KSRA, CFAC, WTCH and WEAV.

Thank you, Russ Newell, for this great confirmation!

WFDF Farmington Hills MI 910

Radio Disney Detroit was finally heard on the fantastic night of October 19, 2008. WWWI Baxter MN 1270

October 19, 2008 was the night also for hearing this most wanted station. I heard a “… This is AM 1270 WWWI” identification on the top of the hour, with a fair signal and with no interference from other stations. Cx is everything!
Tonight I received a nice email confirming my reception of 3WI Radio. QSL #30 from Minnesota!

KBUF Holcomb KS 1030

In ancient times, before the SDR age, I missed this station because I tuned away from 1030 seconds before they gave their ID. I know for sure, because my good friend Bjarne Mjelde, who is a lot more experienced and patient than most people from Finnmark, stayed tuned and got their ID. But on 19 October 2008 I got'em, using my Perseus in Kongsfjord. For once neither WBZ nor KTWO were very strong, and KBUF could be heard with a couple of announcements and IDs right before the top of the hour. An extremly nice email from CE Tom Dial confirmed my reception. Thanks a lot, Tom!

XEZD La Preferida, Cd. Camargo 1350

It was a great pleasure finding XEZD La Preferida on 1350 kHz on my 19 October 2008 recordings from KONG18 - XEZD isn't exactly the most common Mexican on this frequency. And it was an even greater pleasure receiving an email tonight with a letter attached, confirming my reception in a perfect way. The letter was signed by Manuel C. Montiel, Director General.
My MW QSL #300 from Latin America!

XEES Antena 760, Chihuahua 760

XEES Antena 760 was heard on October 16, 2007 (KONG17), and it took some efforts to obtain this verification. Thank you so much, Sonia Gonzalez, for confirming my reception!

KVCK Wolf Point MT 1450

Another station heard on October 19, 2008 was KVCK 1450. What a lovely night! And the KONG18 crew was sleeping and we didn't realize this until a few weeks ago ... Larry Corns, Managing Partner, was kind enough to send me an email with a confirmation of my reception. You can't get too many stations from Montana!

KJJK Fergus Falls MN 1020

19 October 2008 was a great night for hearing stations from Minnesota in Kongsfjord (KONG18), and hearing oldies music when I tuned to 1020 AM there was simply no other option than Groovy 1020. The signal faded up to the TOH and had no competition, so I got a clear “Playing THE greatest hit of all times – Groovy 1020, KJJK AM, Fergus Falls, Minnesota” ID.
Thanks a lot to Brian Andrews for a very nice email confirming my reception!

KBLL Helena MT 1240

KBLL was heard weakly with an announcement on 17 October 2008 (KONG17). An email with a confirmation bumped into my inbox today!
