OAZ4Z Radio Agricultura, Lima 1590

Radio Acricultura in Lima has been a dream to hear for years, expecting this to be one of the less difficult peruvians to hear on mediumwave here in Norway. But - it has become more difficult in later years due to terrible DRM signals on nearby European frequencies. Anyway it was a great pleasure finally hearing La Peruanísima during my visit to Rolf Torvik at his paradise Kalvøya on 22 August 2008. Very early this morning I got a short email from Lima, from Franklin Gambini, Jefe de Operaciones, who attached a letter perfectly confirming my reception. Thank you Franklin, you made my day!

XEVOZ Radio Tráfico, México DF 1590

It was a true pleasure to go to the local post office this afternoon to pick up a letter from Grupo ACIR in Mexico City. Ing. Miguel Angel Barrientos V., who is Director de Ingeniería y Desarrollo Tecnológico, kindly confirmed both my 16 October 2007 (KONG17) reception of XEVOZ Radio Tráfico and my 15 October 2007 (also KONG17) reception of XEL La 1260.

XEVOZ has changed from traffic to music now: "Luz 1590 La Musica Que Hace La Diferencia".
First time I heard XEVOZ, in November 1995, they were Bonita AM.

KPHX Phoenix AZ 1480

Another nice station with an ID at the same hour at the same night, and first discovered by the same nice DX'er, was The Valley’s Progressive Talk 1480 KPHX. Tonight I received a short email from Jeff Farias, confirming my reception. My first QSL from Arizona!

KHEY El Paso TX 1380

OJ Sagdahl didn't sleep as much as I did last night (he never does), and when I woke up this morning he had done a great deal of listening on his recordings from 15 October 2007 which has turned out to be a very good day for NA DX in Kongsfjord. One of the stations he found and pointed out in our web log was ESPN Radio 1380 KHEY, which gave a nice ID on top of the hour at 0300 UTC that night. Also great thanks to Paul F. Whittler, Program Director, for confirming my reception!

My QSL no. 18 from Utah came right now when I received a very nice email from Amy L. Mehr, Promotions Manager, confirming my 22 October 2007 reception of KWDZ AM 910 Radio Disney. The ID I heard was just “AM 9-10 Radio Disney” (and there are two Radio Disney on 910), but an announcement for a book festival in Salt Lake City made my reception report.
