WIPR Radio 940, San Juan 940

Fortunately some still preffer the old fashioned way. Edwin P. Elías, Jefe Ingeniería at WIPR AM/FM Radio, sent me a big envelope with a long letter to confirm my 16 March 2008 reception of WIPR Radio 940 AM. He also sent a mini poster, a card and a mic key ring. This was a very nice reply indeed!

After a few emails to the station the last months and information received from my good friend OJ this weekend, I finally received a confirmation of my 18 October 2007 reception of KAPL Phoenix OR 1300 - my QSL no. 53 out of 53 Oregon stations reported.

KVTA Port Hueneme CA 1520

I have to admit I hadn't even heard about this station until Bjarne pointet out a logging from 22 October 2007 earlier today, discovered on his 50th birthday yesterday. Congratulations, OM!
On 22 October I covered most of the MW dial (800-1600 kHz), so I found this excellent station on my own recording and sent a reception report before going downtown to celebrate the Norwegian Constitution Day (17th May). Coming home late tonight, I found this nice email from Chuck Hastings who confirmed my reception and attached photos of their towers and transmitters.

KWVR Enterprise OR 1340

Another excellent Oregon logging from KONG17 ! KWVR was heard on 22 October 2007, and today I went to the local post office to pick up a package sent from Enterprise, Oregon.

Lee D. Perkins, President & General Manager, had written a beautiful letter to confirm my reception, and he also included 4 stickers and two cups. Thanks a lot - this was a great reply!

This excellent catch from Oregon was found on a KONG17 recording from 19 October 2007. Thanks a lot to Mary Larkin for a very nice email today, confirming my reception! Mary ends her email this way: "While our climate is very temperate, we do not have hot summers, and the joke is that summer time is when the pretty girls wear only one sweatshirt at the beach."

PJD-2 Voice of St. Maarten, Philipsburg 1300

Today I received a verification of my reception of PJD-2 Voice of St. Maarten in Philipsburg - this most wanted station finally heard at Kalvøya (Smøla) at the west coast of mid Norway on 27 September 2007. I missed hearing this station both in 1996 (bad luck) and on 6th September 2007 (overload of red wine), so it was a tremendous pleasure finding PJD-2 on a remote recording made by my SDR-IQ.

Thanks a lot to Lady Grace, who works at their FM station, for confirming my reception. Also I phoned PJD-2 two or three times in order to get the confirmation from my LA #505 and my country #220.

Even if I seem to have missed a few stations on 1080 during KONG17 last October, I got at least three new ones. Number three replied quickly to my 22 October reception report sent earlier today.
